I don't see why not. It might be annoying if it has ridges, but otherwise it is basically a griddle and diners use them for hashbrowns all of the time.

Expect the flipping to be a bit difficult with the ridges.

I just saw something in one of the food section, maybe Family First that said sure, but you'll use less oil. Or something.

I did it, came out better then in my regular pan. Lately I fry schnitzel in that as well. It doesn't stick to the pot and fries much faster.
