My one and a half month old takes short naps and wakes up wanting nothing other than to eat. Even if he hasn't slept - usually around that 2 hour mark he wants to nurse again. I feed him of course. I'm not asking if it's "ok' or not I'm just curious if this is typical for this age?

Mine would eat every hour and a half- two hours tops. Was hard when I had to go out with them

Very normal. Nursed babies eat every 1.5 - 2 hours.

Yep! Very normal. My 7 month old eats about every 2 hours still.

It's so hard! But normal. You can read the book 13 hours by 12 weeks. Even if you don't want to sleep train it gives great tips on how to stretch in between feedings.

Some babies' metabolisms work faster. Doesn't mean you need to supplement. My LO is eating often, but she produces wet/dirty diapers, and is in a high weight percentile.

My kids were like that. They usually nursed every 2 hrs. It was exhausting.

My baby nursed every hour and a half in small amounts. It was definitely hard at some points, but one perk was that nursing never took more than a couple minutes.
I had more than enough milk and she was super chubby, she just couldn’t eat a lot at a time and got distracted quickly.

No need to supplement if your baby is otherwise happy.

Don’t follow this book. It’s not good to stretch feeds. It’s much better for babies to demand feed. To eat when they want. This book is outdated unfortunately.

I'm not worried at all that he isn't getting enough. I have PLENTY of milk and I can tell that he is getting a sufficient amount at each feed. He is gaining nicely thank G-d.
I also don't think it's a growth spurt since it's been like this. I think this is just what he wants. Was just curious if he's just unusual in this regard and just likes eating often but it sounds like it's pretty normal!

I always tried to push my babies to three hours.
So if they were kvetching after two, I would hold them, dawdle and shush, etc. For 15 minutes if I could.

My goal was to nurse every 3 hours. It ended up being every 2-3 hours.

(And my almost 2.5 yo is still nursing!!! Surprised

obviously only a few times in twenty four hours)

But OP, I think youou got so many responses as you did because of your thread title.

If instead you made a poll turned
How often did/do you nurse your babies, 1-4 month old?

With options like
Whenever they cried
Every 1-2 hours
Every 2-3 how
Even more spaced

You would get different answers.

And yeah, I don't know how to do it exactly because 2 hrs is part of two of the options, but you know what I mean
