What’s it called when you coat silver so it doesn’t tarnish?

Ty
Has anyone gotten this done in Lakewood?
Does the silver still need to be polished afterwards?

It doesn't last forever and I only recommend it for something like a vase that is always out and has fake flowers or for pieces mixed with gold and silver because when you polish that the gold rubs off. Talk to the silver store about it.

It’s amazing I love my lacquered piece. No polishing but they need to be lacquered again every few years or so when you see they begin to dull again.

I did it at Eastern Silver in Bp. I heard that not everyone does the same quality job so be careful.
My leichter is lacquered almost 4 years already and it was worth every penny! Haven't touched it with polish all that time. I keep it out all week, it's never in a closet.

We did it in European silver in Lakewood. You dont need to polish. Dont wash it really. It would last perfectly for 5+ years but depends. Like a becher will last shorter because your putting grapjuice/washing it ... lichter will last longer and let's say an esrog box that's used once a year might last forever. Either way highly reccomend ! My lichter is just now after 7+ yes getting purplish..so I need to redo

Lacquer it at any silver store. A word of caution - drips of hot wax will ruin the finish and leave marks. Only use neronim in those deep glass cups if you'll be lacquering, since candles drip.
