After naming one of my kids, afew relatives told me that this grandmother was a loud and talkative person and all kids with this name are loud. And how true it is. This daughter of mine talks non stop since she started talking. It's funny to see that so many cousins with this name are the loud one's in the family.

My son is named after my side but has all the personality traits of my husbands side and looks like my husband. My daughter is named after my husband's side and has all the personality traits of my side and looks like me.

Do you see the person's personality that you named your child after in your child? I'm talking about a more difficult personality. Please only vote yes if it's a very strong resembles. We are being very pressured to give a name and if we don't there will be serious consequences.
what serious consequences? Why name your child a name that you feel so strongly against. It's not fair to your child.

Some people will not name after someone who died young or tragically.

I know several cases of people named for a grandparent who died young and they died young themselves. One died literally at the same age as her grandmother. coincidence? We just don’t remember the people who died young who weren’t named after a grandparent?

I've noticed this in some but not in others (though I could be looking for the similarity) We've seen in the extended family that all children with name x have a similar personality and I was hesitant to give that name. My husband didn't go for that line of thinking though.
