Want to dress DD and DS as Little Miss Muffet and the 'spider who sat down beside her'. I was thinking a white cupcake with white icing and a chocolate 'web'? What could the second item be? Preferably something not milky, not expensive and fairly easy...
Any ideas?

Curds and whey is cottage cheese. You sure you don't want to do dairy?

Otherwise, some old fashioned tarts could work.

If you don't mind making stuff, just google "spider themed food" and tons of cute ideas will come up. But I think cottage cheese (curds and whey) is very clever and giving a container of cottage cheese with some fruit would be much more appealing to me than making a big patchke in the kitchen.
