Ladies, we have a unique opportunity this year! Shmitah is a powerful mitzvah that brings bracha to the world and, Chazal tell us, has the koach to bring the Geulah. במוצאי שביעית בן דוד בא.

This year is the first time since the churban that the majority of Jewish-owned land in Eretz Yisrael is lying fallow for Shmitah.

בזכות נשים צדקניות נגאלו אבותנו ממצרים. Throughout history, it’s always been the Jewish women who brought about the Geulah.

That’s why the N’shei Keren Hashviis has launched a global movement this year, to harness the power of women around the world in support of Shmitah.

Watch Jamie Geller’s inspiring video series about the women in the fields!

The N’shei Keren Hashviis is the women’s division of Keren Hashviis, and is running a separate campaign to provide the farmer’s wives with money for their basic household expenses. (Keren Hashviis’s stipends only cover about 40% of a farmer’s budget, and tend to go towards mortgages, land leases, etc.)

But the farmers don’t just need our financial support; they also need our emotional support. It takes a huge amount of fortitude – together with genuine emunah - to get through the year; knowing that all of Klal Yisrael is behind them gives them the strength to keep going.

So, ladies, let’s do it! In the coming weeks, we’ll be hosting events around the world and running other special projects. We’ll be bringing together thousands of women around the world in support of Shmitah!

Want to be part of this huge zechus? Check out our website www.nsheikerenhashviis.com to find out how you can get involved!
