During the winter what is typically worn with heels and a knee length dress when going to a friends wedding? Is black tights underdressed? Is nude stockings seen as out of season?
Thanks
(I know I can just do me but I’m insecure and I don’t want to stand out)

I wear nude. In my opinion, black is not elegant. I don't like the look of heels worn with black tights.

Going to a wedding in boro park later this week and was also wondering what the norm is for women my age (30s)? I grew up oot and my mother would never ever ever wear opaque tights with heels but that seems to be the norm...

Growing up we never wore black tights with black heels but now everyone does. I used to wear a sheer color but now I wear black tights like everyone else.

I think if the shoes are a darker black like with material, e.g. suede, black looks nicer than a smooth black finish

I would not wear opaque tights to a formal event. I would would wear black or nude sheer stockings.

I’m in my 40’s in Lakewood and it’s very normal to wear black tights to a wedding in the winter. There are some very elegant people who wear nude to weddings in the winter but even very trendy people will wear black tights to weddings in the winter.
It wasn’t always like that but it’s what’s done now. Styles change from time to time.

Depends on the dress and the shoes, but the bottom line is literally nobody is paying attention to your hosiery.

Go with black tights and black shoes if you want to fit in, that is what is currently in style.

I think that almost everyone in bp/lakewood wears black but if you like something else feel free to wear it. I don't think anyone will speculate why you are wearing something else...

I'm always debating.
I do like the look of nude better for weddings but I usually don't have them handy in the winter. So I end up wearing either one and it looks fine either way.
