|
want to give small edible bday gift to friend. one child is in high school and one dorms in town. the rest don't live at home. I wanted to give her a small gift- she loves chocolate- so I was thinking cocoa bombs- but they are pricey. should I give 4 so all who are in the home can enjoy(including husband) or can I just buy 1 or 2 just for her?

I think it depends what for the cocoa bombs I would get 4.
Let's say you were. getiing her a coffee and danish just for her is fine.

I agree as you can gift this kind of present to the birthday girl. It would probably make sense to give it to her in a somewhat private way so that she doesn't feel compelled to share it immediately with everyone.
However, really it is up to her what she wants to do with the gift - e.g share with family or save as a treat for herself to relish in solitude. 
But a birthday gift is not the same as a hostess gift which is meant for the family.

Bday gift is for the bday girl. Actually any gift is for the person you give it to unless you specify that it’s for the whole family.
However, once you give a gift, it’s the recipient’s to do with as she sees fit. If you fear she’ll give it to the kids, tell her “this is for you to enjoy yourself, not to be shared with others.”
