I have a very capable and smart boy who is a few months shy of his barmitzva and I need a good yeshiva for him that has the appropriate resources to get him to a good level of learning for his age/grade level.

Due to certain unfortunate circumstances (not relevant to the issue at hand) he has lots of gaps in his education. He speaks English and Ivrit and reads and in both languages. (In other words, his academic Ivrit is lacking... hence the problem we are having right now). His English vocabulary is much better than Hebrew. When he reads Hebrew, he lacks the vocabulary to fully understand everything. He writes a little in English and he is learning now. His Hebrew writing is less than basic.

He can handle kodesh of 5th grade in America apx. (2nd grade in Israel) and secular studies (in English) at about 4th grade and he is a very good boy k'ah.

He needs a heimish place that has resources to bring him up to level in a positive, warm, and caring way, staffed with professionals at the highest level..

I am NOT looking for a school that has problematic boys... issues... learning disabilities. Not saying anything about these schools and BH they exist.. but they will not be matim for my son.

Does such a school exist in the States?

Is it even wise to ask if this school can be outside of the tri-state areas?

Do you personally know about such a school in EY?

Willing to go anywhere

try Torah V'daas or The Mir. They are both great schools and work with the kids.

Can you get him a tutor to help him catch up while you research options?

If the only difficulty is with his reading/writing skills being behind, a school with a kriyah specialist on staff (or one you arrange for privately) might be a good fit.

He seems to be very behind academically for his age, both in Hebrew and secular subjects (he's in 7th grade now, right?). You can try getting P3 services, but even with them, it won't be easy to close such gaps quickly. Or pay out of pocket for the school resource room.

Of course, the best would be a personal tutor.

Maybe look into Ichud?

There are so many schools in the tri-state, but given what you wrote it would be important for you to come here and visit the schools first and see what's a good fit for you and your son. Talking about a school with others or reading online is not the same as going there and speaking to the administration to have a feel if they have a solution for you
