Pickl-it - air lock

the pickl-it lid comes with an airlock.

can anyone explain how to put water into the actual airlock?
it comes with another another piece...not sure what to do with it.

maybe there is a video I can watch?

The outer piece goes into the top of the jar. Then you put that cup/cone shape piece over the stick protruding in the center of the outer piece so the 'hole' is covered. I guess it kind of looks like a bell hanging on there. Fill with water to the fill line, about 2/3 of the way and then put the cover on top. Good luck!

does the cup/cone float a little whilst fermenting because the gas is pushing it upwards?
it doesn't stay firmly on the hole/tube once I insert it into the hole in the jar and starts fermenting...

Yes, it floats. Just make sure to keep the water level up, the water tends to disappear throughout the fermenting process.

I noticed the water level went down but there was still plenty water.

does it have to be till the top all the time? or at least some water is enough?

Best is to keep it 2/3-3/4 full with water. Mine has a fill line, but I don't know if all of them have.

Just curious, if you don't mind sharing, what are you fermenting?

you are right!

I just checked, never noticed it before, it has a fill line. I probably filled it more than that.
