What is something interesting you put in your chicken soup that makes it yours and extra yummy?

There was literally just last week an article about it in the family first. Worth reading it!! I got so many tips there. I put a beet in last week and gave it such a gorgeous color, and so many health benefits!

Dill, fresh garlic cloves, and no onion (of course the other veggies each give specific delicious flavor).

So I can brag because I'm anon here: mine comes out amazing (as in neighborhood famous) and here's exactly what I do:

Sautee onions and whole chicken in olive oil

Add: water, Parsnip, Turnip, sweet potato, Zucchini, carrots.

Add: salt, pepper, hot pepper flakes

Cook on low all night. Cool, leave in fridge, put back on flame a few hours before shabbos, clean out bones/skin/white meat, add matzaballs.

Turkey neck, carcass of chicken and chicken wings/drumsticks. Salt and onion is the basic.

If I had time to go to the stores (because well the chicken is from freezer) and thought about to I add courgette, carrots, fresh parsley and dill, parsley root in mesh bags. Cause I love the broth and I make a batch for freezing

Here's what's in it
Carrots
Zucchini
Celery
Onion
Piece of red pepper
Chicken-top and bottom as they both add different flavors
Fresh dill
One tiny slice of fresh ginger
Salt
Cook for at least 4-6 hours
Heaven!!

Too bad can't post anon here, I just deleted the story that goes along with my chicken soup. Oh well....

Why no onion? I’ve always found the onion makes such a difference. Curious why you would leave it out

I don't like the flavor it gives the broth- I like the sweeter flavor of the veggies with the garlicky element.
I love onions in general btw 😋.

I put slices of potato. It's unconventional but once you try it there's no going back.

a piece of ginger and fresh dill (in a mesh bag with the chicken). I also put either a turnip or a beet, sweet potato, zucchini, carrots, garlic, celery, and sometimes a parsnip. I cook my soup on low for several hours.

I use potato also - I use Faigy Murray chicken soup. I was always curious if it just adds texture to the soup?
