LOL.
I just bought a bunch of new appliances from him this month.
My 8 kilo machine is doing very well BH so we probably won't be in the market for a new one any time soon. But good to know.

I avoid washing some of our blankets, not because I can't fit them in to my 8 kilo washer, but because I don't think it's good for them. I bring them to the dry cleaner's when they need washing. |
I wash quilts once a year.

Look into a plastic mattress protector to put your quilts in. I'm sure they have something like that.

We have a king sized down blanket. It won't fit. Our single comforters fit.

Are you all washing real down comforters in the washing machine? Don't they get ruined?
Or do you mean the fake synthetic down?

Do you wash down comforters in the washing machine? I thought those had to be dry cleaned. Anyhow, I wash our heavy winter blankets in the wedding machine one at a time (all synthetic).

I don't wash any down blankets. Not the real ones (that would ruin them) and very rarely the synthetic ones.
Unless you have an active bed wetter, I don't see the point of washing them. They are covered in a duvet cover that gets washed frequently.
I mean, if I need to wash the down blankets that are protected by a cover, then I should be chucking my mattresses into the machine too, because they are only covered by a sheet.
