Looks like so many are getting covid a second time with omicron. I was hoping I was safe for a while after having covid about 3 months ago but now I'm not so sure. If you had covid for a 2nd time, how much time passed between the two infections?

It seems to me that Omicron is almost like its own virus and people who got covid after sukkos (most likely Delta) are still susceptible to this, as are vaccinated and even boosted individuals.

This, except that there seems to be evidence that omicron confers immunity against the earlier strains.

With Omicron? Immediatly... 3 days after 3rd vaccine... or 4th vaccine in Israel... unfortunately... but it seems to be milder and affect more the upper respiratory tract than the lower...

How does everyone know which strain they had? Is the lab telling you or are you just guessing?

I had it the first time in March 2020 and still have enough anti-bodies from then. I was exposed many times to people who had covid and were contagious. I only got covid again now Jan 2022 and it’s def the omicron since I also tested my antibodies and it was still the same as a year ago.

This is interesting. So it sounds like previous antibodies do nothing. I wonder if omicron still be protective of future infection

I disagree- previous antibodies should work like the vaccine. It won’t prevent you from getting it will make it much milder

Except that it’s a mild strain to begin with. So It’s hard to know if you have a milder case of it.
