Right in the beginning of COVID and lockdown, we made a tiny bar mitzvah at home and a close family member arranged to have many join over zoom. She then saved the video on her laptop and somehow never sent it to me.
Now when I asked her to send it, she suddenly realized that at one point since then, she cleared everything from her computer and didn't realize that with doing that, she lost that video.
How can she retrieve it? If we can't do this ourselves, is there a professional in Lakewood that would be able to find deleted things from her laptop?

It MAY still be on the hard drive, and there likely is a professional who can check for you. I don't live in Lakewood so I can't recommend one for sure, but you definitely can't do this on your own.
To go into it briefly, when you delete an item, that space in your memory is marked as 'free' which means that Windows knows that it can overwrite it. This does not necessarily mean that the memory has been as of yet overwritten, but the further out you are from deletion the more likely it is.

Thank for your response and valuable info.
Anyone else have any tips or can recommend an expert for this?

Bump. This is our only memory of the bar mitzvah. Does anyone know who could help retrieve the video?
