I’m visiting, and looking for a place to eat that isn’t falafel or pizza, where I can sit down at a table with my husband. Either in the Geula area or Kanfei In Har Nof. Any ideas? Preferably not super expensive, but we are due a nice treat Smile

Milchig? Fleishig? High expensive end or just a nice Cafe that's pretty with good food?

We are not super good at knowing the answer to that question, but I think Mehadrin? We are yeshivish and want to be careful about shemitta. We are looking for a hechsher that is accepted by most yeshivish rabbonim. I think we look for Eida Chareidis and Mehadrin. We just got here, and are trying to figure it out.

Reubens in Givat Shaul - it’s a casual meat upscale sandwich place - really good and Mehadrin

Cafe lyon is by the shuk and is rabbanut mehadrin and doesn't use heter mechira. It's a great place for breakfast or brunch before going to the shuk area.

Not all Israeli chareidim use rabbanut mehadrin Yerushalayim but many of the American yeshivish rabbanim say it's fine.

I forgot to add fine for milk/pareve. Not for meat. Just in case you come across any other places...

It also doesn't use a proofreader for its online English translation! Check out the desserts LOL

We really like Cafe Denya in Beit Hakerem, right off the light rail line. They also have a branch in Givat Shaul on Kanfei Nesharim though we haven't been to it.
Kashrut is Rabbanut Mehadrin Yerushalayim.

I think you should clarify with your rav what hechsherim would be acceptable for you…
