I ordered a new EBT (snap/food stamps) card because my current one is scratched off sometimes doesn't work. I think the old card stops working as soon as you request a new one. Question is, will the card number still work or does each replacement card have a new card number? Some online places can use the card number only, so wondering if I should bother ordering now or wait for my new card to arrive.

I don't think so. You will have to wait for the card to arrive
