My DR doesn’t sound too familiar with it and I’m suspecting dc has it. Who would work with me to have it checked out? Insurance fidelis. Could travel too. Thanks.

Yes. Eye doctors can diagnose and discover many illnesses just by examining the eyes . From there they refer you to the necessary specialists. Some people with Pandas develop tics where they squint and blink so often they show up to the doctor just for that and find out the have Pandas .

For regular pediatrician try Gewirtz. And his associates. They are knowledgeable and recognize it as pediatricians.
Not that a pediatrician is the last stop. But to start with.

I went to a top eye doctor with a kid who had eye tics. He said it’s neurological but didn’t mention anything about pandas.
I have two pandas kids. I wouldn’t start by an optometrist. Seems like a waste of time to me. They can’t prescribe anything to you if needed.

Agreed . But she happens not to be a typical optometrist ... she has a side business of looking at bloodwork and recommending vitamin regimens. She is very knowledgeable but doesn’t prescribe antibiotics .

I paid a ton of money (which I really needed) to Dr. Michal Luchins and got a total misdiagnosis. My neighbor had similar. On top of that, it took a lot of time, and she wanted I should buy a number of vitamins. Eyeglass store also told me she tends to change prescriptions often. Sorry to say it here but I don't want others to waste their money.

No I just checked the website now. Sounds very interesting. Do you have experience with them?
It’s over an hour from monsey. Wonder if people saw results there and it’s worth traveling? Would love to hear about Dr Landau’s experience with pandas too.
