My challah dough is pretty firm and clumpy. How do remove the clumps. What did I do wrong?

Try adding little bits of water or oil and continue kneading it... easier with a mixer but u can soften it by hand too, that will just take longer

Could it be that you didn't need it right away after you added liquid? That could cause clumping.
