So if I live in a place that is not listed here...then what does that mean about me?
I noticed ur missing Teaneck and surroundings.
Also South America is in the Southern Hemisphere.
But seriously op u did pretty good there’s no way to get everyone
1) Teaneck/Bergenfield/NM/Englewood/FairLawn/Paramus…- we don’t count, we are predominantly MO- heck, we are barely Jewish.
2)Is the Bergen County area part of NY (many of us work in the city/send our kids to school there/….. or with Lakewood in NJ.
I won’t even ask what that means for Passaic.
Just giving you a hard time. I don’t care and not emotionally invested.

That you are insignificant.
Or that you are nice.
You can decide.

How about:
- Within 1.5 hour radius of NYC (includes Brooklyn, Monsey, Passaic, Lakewood, etc.)
- Other large USA Jewish community (includes Chicago, Miami, Pittsburgh, Baltimore, LA, etc.)
- Other USA
- Canada
- Central and South America (includes Mexico, Brazil, Argentina, etc.)
- Europe (includes London, Paris, Antwerp, Kiev, etc.)
- Asia (includes Russia, China, etc.)
- Israel large cities (includes Jerusalem, Tel Aviv, Tzfat, etc.)
- Israel other
- South Africa
- Australia
(I live in "other USA")

This poll reflects a very distorted world view.
The first four options together have a Jewish population of maybe 1.7 million Jews. (That's likely inflated ) The rest of the US has about 10 MILLION more Jews.
Los Angeles alone has over 600,000 Jews and Miami has over 500.000.
France and England and Ukraine and Sweden are all in Europe. Those are very different populations. (Not to mention that Paris isn't Strasbourg or Marseille, London isn't Leeds or Manchester, etc.)
Israel has at least 6.8 million Jews, but they're all lumped together.
The OP only seems familiar with a very limited demographic. One of the advantages of this site is opening people up to the size and diversity of the religious world.

If you’re offended you can feel free to move to the “tri state area”. We’ll welcome you fresh off the boat!

I’m not offended at all but no one has said it yet- how are Toronto (massive metropolitan city) and Mexico (Latin country) in the same category but Monsey is a short drive from many ny/nj towns.

Like I said in the other post- just ask what you want to know. Don’t try including others when you don’t really care to know and letting it show.
It’s mind boggling how small minded some people are. The world is a very very big place. Yes, even the frum world. “Anywhere else in the US” includes hundreds of entire communities; how are Chicago, IL and Henderson, NV more similar that Brooklyn and Monsey?
And I live in Lakewood, and I used to live in Brooklyn. |

Don't understand it either. But that is what I was seeing, and I remembered that other thread from not too long ago.

I have a solution for an offended amothers.
Make about ten threads with a poll on each for each Jewish community with a population of 350+ frum Jews.
I would do it if I have enough patience, care enough, don’t mind getting everyone upset with how many of the same kind of threads there are

Hey, check out the answers. Most people are from Brooklyn, Lakewood, and Monsey. It doesn't matter how many Jews live in California, what matters is which location has a larger IMAMOTHER presence.
And I would say that Lakewood, Brooklyn, Monsey and "rest of USA" would be pretty equal in ima-members.

That you get to vote other.
I live on the moon, and she didn't mention that as an option either. Do you know how large the jewish community in the moon is?
