I know there are two Jewish books:

Where has Zeidy gone and another one - does anyone remember the name?

The "Zeidy" one - does it also talk about losing a grandmother?

Also open to non Jewish books on the subject.

Thank you

The books are "I lost someone special" by Bracha Goetz and "Where has Zaidy gone?" by Mirel C. Gruber were helpful to my family when we lost someone.

Thank you.

Does the Zeidy book also discuss losing a Bubby or is it only for a Zeidy?

Thanks

From what I remember (read it a while ago), it's specifically about Zeidy. The book has an actual storyline so the Bubby is featured there, I think she actually explains to the child in the book what's going on, what happened to Zeidy, why they're all sad, what shiva is all about...

These ideas posted were posted by sarah rivkah kohn of links when asked for books for a 6yo who lost a grandparent

I lost someone special- goetz
Where has zaidy gone- gruber
Will I ever be happy again- milevsky

Secular books for children:
My memory book for grieving children (our house)
The scar (moundlie)
Eddie's brave journey
The elephant in the room (Edward and ponciano)
When someone dies (national alliance for grieving children)
When someone can social dies (heegaard)
The memory box (rowland)
The invisible string (karst)

I have no experience with any of these, but srk didn't recommend things without reading them herself and thinking about them.

Hatzlacha

May the family find nechama
