why does every bas mitzvah book have to have the girl reading her torah portion? this month they have "pink slippers, bat mitzvah blues" and it seems like such a nice book. its not even about her bas mitzvah, it just starts off with that and then moves on to her life after bas mitzvah. my family has r"l been thru major medical trauma more than once and I think it would be such a beautiful book for my daughter. such a pity that they have to make it a point of putting in the torah reading.

The War I Finally Won looked interesting, but I read reviews, and supposedly it alludes to a same s-x relationship. Apparently it doesn’t say it outright and if the kid has no concept they won’t realize, but it still made me nix it.
I wasn’t able to find out about the other ones, I’d love if anyone who knows can post which one is good.

Anyone know if home court is ok? There isn't too much info on it. Sounds like something my boys would enjoy.

None of the books looked compelling enough to waste my time screening. Some months are like that I guess. "Related books" are just meant to be helpful for people looking for ideas of what to read, they aren't available to order on PJ.

Looks like they removed the Pink Slippers book and replaced it with Looking For Me. Seems pretty harmless.
Just received Mister Lister by Menucha Publishers from the younger PJ Library!

I'm concerned about how they'll answer the hashkafic question of why bad things happen to good people in "Looking for me".
I chose it, but I'd like to peek at it first to see how they deal with that.

I’m leaning towards Jose and the pirate Toledano. Anyone familiar?

My little kids get PJ library books automatically, but I've noticed that my older ones haven't gotten in a while. One of them noticed recently he hasn't gotten in a while. How do I find out about older titles?
