Tysm!

It says to bake uncovered at 425 for 1.5 hours & then cover & bake @ 200 for 6 hours.

I guess I can do the first part on erev Yom Tov (Thursday) & then refrigerate & put in oven before shabbos? Which will cook overnight at 200 degrees. Will have my sabbath mode set to that.
Think that should work, right?

I do this all the time. I bake it covered at 350 for an hour and a half or two hours, then leave it at 250 till the morning. This year, I'll do that on Thursday, refrigerate it and then put it in on Friday afternoon and leave it till Shabbos morning .

Comes out delish.

200/215/225 in the oven the whole time works just fine. That's the temp of the crockpot on low.

Without the initial 425 for 1.5 hours?

Just put raw into the oven on Friday?

Many recipes just go on low for 18-24 hours. I don't know what your recipe is but it will work fine.

If you're going for a potato kugel feel, do bake it first before YT and then place it in the 200 oven before shabbos.

I bake it for an hour on high, and then put it in erev shabbos on 225 with a cup or two of water in the pan. Comes out perfect every time.

What if I don't keep my oven on? Is there a way to make it on Thurs and cook, and let it sit? Or that's just too long to be on a blech? Or do I make it on Friday?
