I think you should take it, I've made the jump from an easier "cushy" job that I was unhappy at to a technically harder job but I feel so much better about it. You spend many hours of your day at your job, if you're unhappy it bleeds over into other parts of your life.

1) Do you believe you will enjoy working there? Do you know anything about the company culture, the people you would be working with?
2) Is your life in a place where you can really commit to increased hours?
1) What happens if the new job doesn't work out? Can you take the financial hit?
If the answers to those questions are yes, I'd take the full-time position.

I left an easy cushy job because I was so unhappy with the management. My work stress bled into my personal life and caused me stress even during the weekends and on vacation when I wasn’t working. I switched around 6 months ago to a job where I have a lot more work, same pay, but the team is amazing. And I am a much happier, calmer, less stressed out person as a result.

Will you have enough practical home support for a full time job - a babysitter, cleaning lady, take out food, etc? Coming home at 6 in the evening and still having strength to deal with kids' hw, bath time, some quality time, making supper in advance?

I vote for leaving. Being bored and unfulfilled at work isn't a good situation.
Although for me it would also depend on your long-term career plans. Will you be learning new skills at the new job? Were you eventually planning to be a full-time worker or is part-time your ideal? Do you have 30 years left in the workforce or 3? etc.

Yes, definitely leave. I was in a job where I was treated so badly, it ended up negatively impacting work, and I was asked to leave. (Its a lot more complicated than that). I was depressed, on medication and in therapy. Since leaving my old job I am so much happier, I got a new job where I don't have horrible people making me miserable.

Leave the cushy job. When you're excited about what you're doing you suddenly have more hours in your day. You can use the extra income for conveniences to offset the extra hours you'll be working.

Are these two jobs the only options? Perhaps you can stay at the part time job and look for other options - not necessarily paid, but something that you will find fulfilling?
