I'm helping someone with their tax returns. They get kollel checks from BMG but said they didn't get a tax form.
Does BMG usually report the kollel checks? W2? 1099? None? Should I report as other income or sch C?

It’s a scholarship. You’d report under education expenses. Bmg doesn’t send out a tax form.

But there were no BMG expenses - no 1098T
So it doesn't get reported?

So it doesn't get reported? | You still need to report it. You don’t need a form to report.

I'd report scholarship income without related expenses? Form 8863?

BMG sends out a letter that details what funds were received that year and what is taxable and what is not. If they don't have it they should be able to get it.
