I'm pretty sure that only applies in the opposite direction. Eg: making a bracha on food. Then you're supposed to eat the food right away.

I’d double check that with your rabbi, but as far as I understand it’s a problem
Perhaps it’s bedieved allowed but a rabbi would definitely be able to clarify
