If I dress well, I'm criticized that I'm a show off.
If I dress simply, I'm judged that I'm poor.
If I'm fat, I'm criticized that I don't have self control.
If I'm skinny, I'm criticized that it's not healthy.
If I work out of the house, I'm criticized that I should be with my children.
If I'm a SAHM, I'm judged that I'm bored and lazy.
If I sleep train, I'm criticized that it's abusive.
If I don't sleep train, I'm criticized that I allow my children to take advantage of me.
If I leave my kids behind when vacationing or after birth, I'm criticized that I'm traumatizing them.
If I don't vacation, I'm criticized that I'm a martyr.
If I leave my babies at a sitter, I'm criticized that I'm abandoning them.
If I take my babies with me whenever I go, I'm criticized that I have attachment issues.
We'll always be judged, no matter what we do. So we might as well do what's right for us and what makes us feel good!

I heard a great line, one of my favorite all timers.
"You don't like me? Step in line."
The important thing is that you use sechel to form your decisions. If you've gotten your own approval then you won't care what others think.

I like this. And doing what is right doesn't always make us popular.

What's important is that you can live with the choices you make 30 years down the line. Regret is an ugly thing...
