I love my Chana and we call her Chani.
Also my brothers call her Chanchki or chanale.
Why are you naming after someone if you dont like the name? Never understood this concept.

If you don't like any of the nicknames would you consider doing like a yiddish version for the name? Like for Tzipora do Fayga, or Faigy or Faye. Not sure what a yiddish version is of Chana- but maybe you can change it slightly to Chava, Chavie, or Chaya- so it's similar sounding?
