I have a large black hole of a closet, I would like to put proper shelving and hanging in to optimize the space.
I would like it to be L shaped as I think that's best for the size of the current black hole.

I'm having a hard time with trying to find which company and pieces to use to best fit my needs. I would like it to be wooden and have some hanging, some shelves and some drawers.

Any suggestions of what company to use or online system to help me choose the best pieces?

All help is useful!

Thank you

Hire a local closet design company.
That would be my suggestion.

Of course it does. People who aren't Jewish have closets too

Maybe a virtual session with an organizer can help you figure out how to optimally structure the space

I live in Canada, and yes these companies exist. California Closets exist here, as do many smaller companies. Some are Jewish, but most are not. This is not a Lakewood or Brooklyn phenomenon.

A closet company is like a kitchen company but instead of selling kitchen cabinets, they design and sell closets.

Perhaps you can say where you are located, so we can help you find a company?

Honestly my husband is quite handy and we've put in closets before, using closet maid and rubber maid brands from home depot/lowes

The catch 22 with this one is that it's a walk in style so I need to get a few pieces that fit together and that's where I'm having a hard time... I know exactly the ratio of hanging and shelving I want.... but making it work is getting complicated I thought there was some online tool or something

If you (or dh) are handy you should be able to do it yourself.

IKEA - Home Depot and there are many more online.

You have to get your measurements and work with their designing tool to figure it out.

Play around a little until you figure what you want.

I like some hanging (the rod extends into the blind spot corner) other side drawers till middle and shelving above it. I did one shelf with large space between next for wig boxes and later added a mirror against the wall.

I also did a narrow double shelf all around at the very bottom of the closet for shoes.

Going with a professional will save you lots of time but you will pay 3 or 4 times the price (if not more).
