At what point is it ok to stop toilet training and revisit it a different time?

How many days have you been trying? Is child aware when making?

Personally I stopped when I saw my son was not interested in the potty. Like at all. So I thought he’s so not ready. (And we’ve been talking to him about the toilet and how poop from his diaper should go in the toilet for days and still are)
I’d love to let him lead us into it (look up child-led potty training) but by the time he goes to cheder he has to be trained already.

Today is day 4 and he doesnt say he needs to go and when peeing in potty doesnt say anything.. I only see when we check after a bit... Hes a smart kid and very verbal but I think he doesnt understand the sensation that hes peeing or needs to go pee... I just know that some say its not good psychologicaly for the kid to go back to diapers ...

I did a 10 minute timer. Put the kid on every 10 minutes. Once she urinated a few times she started to get it. Plus we talked about it every time in a fun way. But he might not be ready. Most aren't before 3. Give it one more day with every 10 minutes and talking about what the toilet is for. In a fun way. We brought books and looked at them for a minute. Its exhausting but its 1 day.

I don't know who says that but they're wrong. It is always ok to return to diapers for a kid who does not reliably put their waste products in the potty. And 2.8 is still young. Most are not fully interested in transitioning to the toilet earlier than 3.
