How does wic work here? How do you know which cereal or yogurt is allowed? Is there a way to shop online? And which stores accept WIC and deliver groceries?
Is the whole thing worth the hassle of signing up?

I have the wic app, you can scan the items and see if they are approved before you go to cash register
Not many stores in flatbush take wic, in boro park I belive more do except it.
I have never found a store that let me do online order with wic
If you go to the store and do the shopping I don't think it would be a problem to do delivery
Find out from which every supermarket you would like to go to.
However at times when I ask stores they mix up snap and wic.
Hope this helps

Is there a way to sign up for WIC online or I have to go in person? Where do they have offices?

I think WIC is worth getting. With toddler and pregnant I got $67 of fruits and veg. That is more than 1 week of produce for my family. Plus all that milk, cheese, yogurt, bread etc. Inflation is really high.

Boro Park is 2 WIC locations, Miamondies on Ft Hamilton and 56 st. You do have to go down for initial appt, rest is virtual. You need proof of income. Women and children need doc forms and blood work. Bloodwork is biggest downside.

2nd location is Yeled VYalda. They do it all virtual, but you have to pick up card in person.

Most groceries in BP accept WIC. Supermarkets like Bingo and KRM do not.

The stores have signs/stickers of which juice, cereal, cheese is covered. The onces have to match up to amount you got. You get the hang of it after a few trips to store.

WIC also gives you small bookelt to browse of which items are covered. It includes pics of bread so you get familiar.

I don't have a smartphone so I'm not super familiar with the app. Dh does, (but I shop) so I check at home how much funds or which products I have left.

After paying you get a receipt that lists what you have left. I clip it to card so I can keep track. They also email a shopping list of items. I found that confusing.

Also peeking into others shopping cards helps you learn. No to big oatmeal, yes to packets etc.
