Until what age do you "put your child to sleep"? At what age is it appropriate to say goodnight, not in the bedroom, and child goes into his/her room, gets into bed and goes to sleep? What about saying shema with the child vs. child saying shema by themselves?

Probably around 10.
Parents should "put their kids to sleep" as long as child lets - say shema together, give a kiss, say goodnite

Depending on maturity my oldest requested to do that at 8. My now 8 year old still needs to be tucked in and given attention before going to sleep. I think by 10/ 11 most kids are ready.

My oldest is six so she’s lumped together with the younger ones bedtime routine, then gets to have some extra time to stay up after they’re asleep. If she was the youngest she’d definitely already be doing her own bedtime routine. It depends on the child.

I go and say good night to my kids until they start going to bed after me!
At that stage, they come and say good night to me

Even the toughest teens turn to mush when you go to give them a good night kiss in bed. Don't stop.
My oldest comes to come because I'm already in bed but if I'm walking around she asks if I could come say good night to her.

I must have been a horrible mom
We would say she may together downstairs
Say good night give kisses
And then they would go up on their own
Maybe from 5
And they would talk in bed until they fell asleep
My 3 oldest are close in age

Same. My teen DS usually comes to say good night to me because I'm in bed before him. My DD 11 I still tuck in and give a kiss.

My only is 14 and still asks for me or dh to "put her to sleep". Its giving her a good night kiss and chatting a bit in her room before we shut her light.
Ill do it until she doesnt ask me anymore.

Don't say that! There is no right or wrong way in this matter.
