Honey, no one can answer that without knowing your family or what you think is appropriate.

My advice is to pre-screen whatever you want to show your kids.

Anything rated G won’t have bad language. But romance (not s-xual) can be in anything. I recall some Disney ones like the girl with the huge pig (don’t remember the title) and the one about the little boy who was raised in the jungle. I think those are pretty clean.

Older movies
Bedknobs and broomsticks
Chitty chitty bang bang
(May have the mildest romance in it, but so so clean and subtle)

There's very minor romance in the original trilogy and a little bit more of a heavy romantic subplot for the Hobbit trilogy so do your research so do your research

I would NOT show this to a 12 y.o. It is very violent and the main prob is that it is creepy and disturbing. (For those who know:…”My preeecious”).

Ugh, the whole thing irked me out. Too disturbing for that age-of any background (just IMO).

Honestly as you said It's your opinion other people love it so many people have fallen in love with fantasy and gollum and stuff

Personally I think a lot of this depends on the temperament of the kid, I mean like I said I was completely oblivious to certain things as a child other kids would be more perceptive.

Almost everyone I have spoken to does not like Dumbo's pink elephants on parade I love that

It's an individual thing you can't make a one rule across the board

My family watches things like Cheaper by the Dozen. When I was younger we watched all the Olsen twin movies but I don't remember if there was much romance. My husband's siblings like Princess Diaries but I've never watched them.
