Sorry if TMI, has anyone had this and can advise. My son is now 18 mo but this has literally been going in since he could control his hands. Whenever he can, he viciously scratches his male parts to the point of drawing blood. Diaper changes require an extra person to hold his hands down. Baths are quick as can be because if he is not seriously distracted he hurts himself. He can't wear anything he can access his private parts in, meaning no shirts that don't button underneath and no shorts that he can reach up. I had a babysitter the other day who ignored the pjs I left for him and put him to sleep in just tshirt and pants, and in the morning there was blood everywhere and he is full of painful cuts - he cries when I change his diaper.
He also has eczema but pediatrician says this isn't part of it. Pediatrician otherwise unhelpful with this.
Any ideas or recommendations, mommies?

I think you need a new pediatrician.
Scratching until bleeding is not a habit. Something is bothering him.

Do you think he needs to see a pediatric urologist?

I’d think a dermatologist first.

Definitely not a urologist. You need to take care of the eczema.

I would toilet train him. Letting the area breathe can ease physical discomfort.

Could it be it itches him? Maybe he has fungus?
