I want to use heavy cream instead of parve whip.
heavy cream is thicker - if I use half milk and half heavy cream will I get the right consistency?

its a difference if you are whipping it vs stirring it into a cheesecake. In the latter case the only difference is calories and it probably doesn't matter that much. But it will just be less creamy.
I would use just cream personally.

not whipping it.
heavy cream is thicker/creamier than parve whip. parve whip has plenty calories.

I would still just use cream, not half & half, but you could probably do it either way. Cream will give it a richer taste (in a good way).

It depends what it's for.
If it's for whipping, you need the heavy cream.
If it's in a soup, it depends on what consistency you want.

I’d use heavy cream one to one.
