Challah underdone in middle

I baked challah and I thought they were fully baked, but discovered on shabbos that the middle was underdone. Not completely raw, but enough that most people wouldn’t want to eat that part. (I happen to like it but we’re having guests this week…)
I have more challahs from the same batch in the freezer. Can I bake it more once it’s defrosted?

In theory, yes. In practice, I have never found this to help.

Will it get ruined if I try? I’d rather have underbaked challah than no challah! But I really prefer to have it fully baked.

Unfortunately when trying to re-bake undercooked bread, I have always ended up with cooked dough rather than bread. I don’t think it will work.

Ok thanks. Hope my guests like almost-raw dough!

Echoing previous posters-unfortunately it won’t work 😞
In the future a good way to check if challah baked through is tapping the bottom of the challah and it should make a sound (kind of like tapping melon to see if sounds hollow). Idk if you already do this but I also like to switch bottom and top racks halfway through baking.
