I'm cross-posting this from miscellaneous because topics in that forum don't seem to get much traction. I hope this is an acceptable post for this forum:
Hi! first post here
A few months ago one of the kids magazines had an interview with a kid whose family did not live in a permanent home. They travelled around the US and internationally staying in Airbnbs and such. I thought it was in the circle magazine, and I reached out to see if they could connect me. The editor didn't recall there ever being such an article.
Does anyone remember seeing that article and know which magazine it was in?
(What triggered this is that we were doing some number crunching and realized that next year we will be spending 90k post tax on housing and tuition *alone*. We make good money but it's literally all just going to the bare basics of frum life. My current job is somewhat flexible and might let me cut to part time with a proportionate salary cut. We're kind of considering cutting my hours, and homeschooling the kids while traveling around. If anyone else has ever done this or considered doing this, please let me know)

If I remember correctly it was the Mishpacha Jr. Could it be?

Was that the Weimore (or something like that) family from Monsey?
They traveled over a year through the US, and ended up settling in California.
There is also a Chassidic Israeli family that's traveling the world.
I think both stories were in the Mishpacha, but I may be mistaken.

I don't know of the article in question, but I know of a family that did something like this, except with an RV instead of Airbnb's.
We've been interested in doing something like this as well, though Airbnb prices have gone up considerably in the past few years. It used to be much easier to find monthly home rentals listed on there all across the country for under $2,000/month. Now, not so much. Gas is also a lot more, making cross country travel more expensive than ever.

Thanks! It's weird because we don't get Mishpacha, but maybe I randomly had it in my house. I will reach out to the editor and ask.

The Israeli family was definitely in the Ami Living.

Have you ever considered going internationally? other countries have much much cheaper accommodations. I'm not really sure how practical it is with my family though, and I'd have to get much better at accumulating credit card points

The Pshednovak family was featured in the Ami, and their daughter was featured in a different issue of Aim. The family has a website - https://www.hul-kasher.co.il

(I think the family may be on here?)
The kids diary was in the circle magazine

I thought they were in the circle! that's the only magazine we get consistently so that's the only one that would make sense. But the editor didn't remember anything about it. Do you remember more details of the family so I can jog their memory?

I think it’s the family in the other links.
I think I remember it in the circle from when they interviewed kids about things that happen to them
The last link is the family blog
