Is this the same as corned beef
I don’t see the spices I usually see in corned beef
I bought it in Bingo if that makes a difference

Yes it's a corned beef using 2nd cut brisket. It's good - enjoy it.

The corn beefs never seem to have the spices they used to have. I bought a container (in the spice section) and add a little when I cook.

Yes the big markets have something called a tumbler now that speed brines the meat in just a few hours. You'll see a gel when you open the vacuum pack.
FYI Bingo has imported beef that's not grain finished so may not be as moist.

Yes. Add water almost but not quite cover. Bring to a boil. Lower heat and simmer for a few hours until you can pierce it with a fork. Cool overnight in refrigerator. Slice only when cold. Reheat the slices in the cooking liquid.

I love bingo pickled meat. I cook it in a foil with brown sugar mustard powder balsamic vineragr and let it steam like that. Also great boiled. It’s salty and delicious. Way better than other stores

I put it in a pan, cover with water, cover tight with Tim foil and bake at 300 degrees for 3 hours.
*** rinse well before cooking.
