I will be attending a yeshivish wedding and my DH is not going with me because he has to be out of town. Is it just the man who asks for a bracha from the chosson? What about the large challah at the couples table? What is that for and when? What things are necessary, normal for me to do to?

I never even thought about the chosson. The women can ask for brachos from the kallah during kabbalas panim at the beginning.
Fun fact, I was totally unprepared for that. I had no bracha giving experience and wasn't aware of this custom. No one warned me. This lady asked me for a bracha and I just sort of looked at her. So awkward.

Just go with the flow and do what other people do.
The ladies usually line up to wish mazel to kallah and mothers before badeken, and kallah will give a brach. (Didn't know chsssanim give brachos!!!)
Eat the roll at your seat.
