Somehow I just cant remember this....
Am I allowed to set my crockpot/slow cooker to turn on on yomtov so that I can use it to cook?

Yes.
Keep in mind that you can only cook for a meal that same day on YT. So you can start cooking at night for the next day meal (since night is the start of the day). But you cannot start cooking during the day for that night's meal (since that's considered the next day).

I had my yeshivish husband look into this for me and he said yes. I plan on putting up a roast motzei shabbos after the meal for Sunday lunch.
