My husband bought plastic, he had no idea it’s a safety concern. Is there any way to make it safe?

See if you can pull it out and put it in a safer container? A flower pot maybe?

I always use the plastic. Never had an issue. I put it in a foil pan.

The plastic is heat resistant, and should not be a problem. I have a three day candle that has been burning right through Yom Tov, and have no problem with the plastic, and nor has there been a problem in the past. I put it on a heat resistant surface, but I do that with the glass ones as well.
