I'm a special ed. teacher. I get gifts from some students, sometimes. Lately I've been neglectful in writing thank you notes. I know it's wrong. My question is as follows:
If I'm thanking parents for a gift that I got now, do I mention an old gift that I didn't acknowledge? How to say that properly?

Dear Mr. /Mrs. Matanahgebber,
Thank you so much for the lovely pooper-scooper you gave me for Purim, as well as the piddle mat you gave me last Pesach. You have made life with Puppy Spot so much easier and neater!
I want you to know how much I enjoy having your Bowser in my class. His lively enthusiasm encourages all the others.
A freilachn Purim and happy first day of spring.
Best wishes,
Morah Nora GloccaMorra
