I am wondering if anyone has experience with MRSA infection in the ear.

My dd1 got tubes in February. Her ears are non stop draining. The doc tested it and came back positive for MRSA but it still did not go away after two different ear drops that the doc prescribed.

Anything natural to try to get rid of MRSA?

My son had this too. Tubes in the ears and massive draining. He was also positive for Mersa. No ear drops helped. I finally took him back to the ENT (not his regular doctor) and he prescribed oral medication which bh helped. His ears cleared up completely and if they do start draining from a cold, then ear drops help now.
Hope this helps.

My friend had this with her toddler after tubes. treatment protocol was oral antibiotics, and bactroban smeared in the nose and ear 3x day, as well as ear drops, all prescribed at the ENT. Just curious which ENT you used?

I went to Dr Engel also. He took a Ear test and until Mersa was confirmed, prescribed the ear drops and Bactroban- which did not help. Once Mersa was confirmed and bactroban wasn’t working, he gave us oral.

did you do oral with Bacitracin and ear drops? my husband has been doing ear drops non stop and once he started giving her oral he basically dropped doing drops because he doesnt see how its helping and my kid goes crazy from the drops.

My dd is on oral for 3 days and still didnt clear up...

MRSA in the ear can be dangerous so close to the brain. Go to your pediatrician ASAP so he can see it up close and decide what course of action to take. Sometimes they'll watch it for a day (but it seems to be 3 already) and and if it doesn't get better will admit the patient to the hospital for IV antibiotics. Refuah Shelaima!

In the hospital they test the strain of MRSA and use targeted antibiotics to address the resistant infection. Refuah Shelaima!

MRSA is by definition antibiotic resistant. I would highly recommend you find an Infectious Disease specialist to deal with this.

MRSA is not a joke at all.
I know a roundabout who had it in hi foot and it traveled within his body very quickly and was affecting his breathing and his entire state of health.
He was hoospitalized.
Please please take this seriously. It's life threatening.
This isn't the time for natural and homeopathic.
Please find a specialist

my pediatrician tested the drainage and gave mrsa specific drops, as well as oral. It worked BH. I would not skip ear drops even if on oral, since MRSA can get very bad very fast. I dealt with this twice, about a year apart.

Columbia University's Morgen Stanley Children's hospital is phenomenal with these emergencies. Their children's emergency room is really great.
