I love holding baby but am sooo sleep deprived...

He only sleeps while being held. During the day that's fine, but at night I need to get some sleep, even if just a little.

any ideas?

Normal!!

Things that have been tried (not all by me)

Different style swings till you find the one your baby maybe likes.

You sleep on recliner with baby held on you with a wrap

Sound machine w heartbeat

Vibrating bassinet

Car seat (many babies like the upright position).....my dr even says on his "call hold music" that car seat is acceptable the first weeks of life

If car seat only in car works......drive around until baby sleeps and hopefully stays asleep when you bring in.....if all else fails and baby wakes when moved, stay in car and lean back seat Smile

Switch off w dh.....he may have to cut back other things like learning, minyan if you're in a dire baby not sleeping situation.

Anyone who can hold baby during day and you get a good few hours in then?

Make sure baby is not gassy and not hungry. Is baby gaining well?

Mazal tov and Hotzlocha!! Most grow out of this in a few weeks.

Thanks. He is eating well and gaining very nicely. He is gassy, not sure what to do for that. I am avoiding gassy foods (cabbage, broccoli, milk, beans, chocolate, most veg)
