My son broke his arm. (Bh it’s his left and he’s a righty) but he’s getting super bored, can’t ride a bike, play ball etc etc. doc also wants him not to run around too much…. I don’t want screen time… he likes to read so there’s that, I offered him puzzles- no thanks.

Any other ideas? Maybe games he can play himself… some sort of crafts…. All ideas welcome!!

Any interest in drawing? Get him fancy pencils and a sketchpad?
Or painting/watercolors
Learn baking or cooking? Can do with one hand although he may need some help

I assume that by puzzles you mean jigsaw puzzles? Logic puzzles could be a good option. Sudoku is just the tip of the iceberg! :- )

Board games. If someone can spend the time with him.

I feel like screen time was created for this reason. Maybe reconsider?

A cornhole game, for outside. Or a variation of a ring toss onto cones. Basically, this gets him outside and doing something that feels active, even though there's no running and he's just walking around collecting what he threw. Bonus is that while he can play himself, it's also a competitive outdoor thing he can do with friends.

Also, depending on how he can use the broken arm, possibly a sort of wood-based project. Many boys won't paint a picture, but they'll glue or screw together a birdhouse from a kit and then maybe paint that.
