Interlinear will help if he really means that.
Much more importantly, his choice for next year will either turn him around or cement the problems.
Put him somewhere he can start the foundation again from scratch. He sounds like one of the tons of yeshiva grad boys who have a house of cards built in thin air without a foundation.

So there are greater questions here.
I assume that the school he's in makes sense for who he is, if you want to keep him local, etc. But he deserves to feel joy and meaning in his Yiddishkeit and he just might need another yeshiva.
Just saw your a later post about finishing 12th grade, etc. I hope you can find a new yeshiva for him.
ETA: It's not just a mentor. It's a yeshiva that will be good for HIM.
