So this year a woman took over driving my daughter to school every day mid way through the year when our other mode of transportation fell through. I paid her well above what was asked and my daughter was dropped at her house every day and not picked up. I want to show hakaras hatov but don’t want to spend a lot because it was something I paid for. What would be an appropriate gift? Amount?

I would just write a personal thank you card. Depending on her style, give it with ice coffee, a mini chocolate, or ice cream. it can be tied into a poem. or a small gift card to a store that sells coffee.

What about I don't know how expensive it is but can you afford to give her like a gift card to a car wash
