Hi!
I’m always looking for places to take my family (5 little ones bH) that are free or not so costly .
We try out diff city playgrounds (juniper in queens is nice, Brooklyn bridge park has tons of fun ) and museums (we’ve gone to queens museum of art , looking to check of museum of natural history )
Bronx zoo is fun n free on Wednesdays .
Looking for more ideas . Please feel free to post as it can help others too

Please be careful when you go to these places especially in Manhattan. There are mentally ill people who frequent these free places too.
Don't go yourself or bring lots of young kids, and bring pepper spray. Seriously.

To the best of my knowledge is the one day of week they let the animals rest and some animals sleep all day you don't get to see therefore they open free of charge. Could be I'm wrong though

New York Aquarium is free on Wed after 3, you need to reserve tickets online. You can go to the boardwalk/beach beforehand or afterwards and have them play in the sand.
IS THERE A DAY/TIME WHEN ADMISSION IS FREE?
Admission is free after 3:00pm on Wednesdays at the Aquarium. ADVANCE TIMED TICKETS ARE REQUIRED. The Wednesday Afternoon Ticket Store will open on Monday at 3:00pm for that Wednesday’s reservations. DO NOT come to the aquarium without a reserved ticket.
https://nyaquarium.com/plan-your-visit/faqs
Check out the Riverside Park Goats happening this Wed-- https://tinybeans.com/events/n.....0000/
There are different islands to visit and explore like Governors Island, Randalls Island, Little Island, etc. All of them have tons of free events, you can check their website before visiting to see what your kids would enjoy. For example, Randalls Island is having a Fun in the Park day on Wed where the kids can play games (and I believe watch fireworks afterwards)-- https://randallsisland.org/eve.....park/
Check out other parks for events and other fun activities to do with the kids (if you want are comfortable swimming in mixed swimming then there are free pools as well. You can literally be busy all summer long just doing free things in NYC.

Domino Park in Williamsburg would be perfect for them. Put them in swim clothing and have them play in the crystal fountain (there are slides there as well and the older ones can ride their bikes/scooters if you can bring it along).

Would you feel comfortable taking the kids by yourself? 3 toddlers and 1 adult, is it a safe place to do that?
