Does anyone have a name of a periodontist tjyebused or heard of personally that takes jersey care. The 2 names chemed gave me don't take my insurance. They said I can call my insurance company but I would have no idea if anyone from the list of names they would give does good work.

Get the names and then actually verify they take the insurance. Many times the insurance company isn't up to date.

Then ask your regular dentist if he knows anything about any of the choices. I rely on my regular dentist for referrals to specialist dentists.

If that doesn't pan out, then post names on imamother. Honestly I would rely on a referral to my dentist versus an internet recommendation.

I agree that a dental referral would hold more weight. But they are only giving me 2 names that don't take my insurance. Paying out of pocket is really expensive. So I am still hoping maybe someone used a good periodontist and can give a recommendation.

Why would your insurance company give you names which aren’t in your network.

My advice is to contact your insurance and find out which dentists are in their network. Then research thise dentists. You can ask your dentist for their opinion and if they haven’t heard, then ask in imamother.

That is generally one would find any medical provider e.g. find out which ines are in the network amd then determine by some means which are the best for your purposes.

Just sharing my experience.
I called my insurance and got a name from them.I didn't know anyone that used him previously. I figured how bad could it be! Traveled to him because he was far but I wasn't approved by insurance for work that needed to be done.
Paid out of pocket which was much much cheaper than prices of other dentist.
My dentist wasn't happy with the work. Told me to do it again. I thought I had waited too long so went back to same periodontist. Paid a 2nd time out of pocket.
Dentist said job wasn't done well enough and I shoulduse someone else. So I ended up going to private periodontist that didn't take jersey care and Paid a 3rd time!!!
It's frustrating but if I need to see a periodontist I will go to a good one the first time even if it's expensive!

I did not find someone in network. So I went to Dr. Manis Berger and paid out of pocket. Very happy. He did not rush to do work!
