What comes close to Newport in historic interest and beauty, thats within 3 hour drive from NYC, and has kosher takeout in the area (Newport does not have kosher takeout)?

I have never been to Newport so I don't know what it is

If you want historic interest, beauty, and Kosher takeout then I will recommend Allaire State Park

https://stateparks.com/allaire......html

It is about 20 minutes maybe less from Lakewood

Thanks but unless the area has beautiful mansions, which I like, I dont want to go in the south direction. Its more humid than NYC.

Newport is exceptionally unique.

Bring takeout from home or stop along the way

Cape cod is stunning and the weather is beautiful, but it's probably further than you want to drive and the food options are limited.

Lake George certainly doesn't have mansions or a rich history like Newport, and I actually found it feeling cheap and low-class touristy (despite the draw of the lake).

OP I hope you find what you're looking for, but I'm not sure it exists. You could try Boston, which definitely has rich history and kosher food. I find the Charles River beautiful, and you could even drive to Onset for a private beach or go whale-watching out on the water out of Plymouth (which is also no stranger to history!).
