Has anyone ever been in Budapest?
Is it a good place to vacation for a couple?
Is there kosher food there?
Nice attractions?

Any information would be helpful!

I've heard that there are kosher restaurants there. Many people go there to visit R' Shayale's kever.

I've been twice, but about 20 years ago. The main thing for me was kever avos, so if that's not why you're going, there might be fewer attractions. I really enjoyed seeing where my grandparents grew up and it was inspirational for me to daven by the kevarim of ancestors.

As for food, there was a kosher hotel called King David. Not the most luxurious, so you might want to stay elsewhere and get meals there. There is also a fleishig restaurant although I don't remember the name. You can also order meals to eat there on shabbos. This is what we did when I visited with friends.

There are also a bunch of tours, mostly Israeli, that set up shop in less fancy hotels and offer kosher food. I did this when I went with my mother. We stayed in the nicer hotel, probably 4-star. The meals were in the 3-star hotel next door. Not fancy, but kosher and adequate.

Hungary is known for its spas, if that interests you. They also have a well-kept zoo.

I was there one evening last month and thought it was beautiful.
I stayed at the Ritz Carlton- a beautiful hotel, had a boat tour of the Danube at sunset, spent a couple of hours at a beautiful spa, and got to see 1 restored shul.
There is definitely kosher food, I forgot the name of the restaurant but the food was plentiful and good!

I wish I would’ve had more time to explore the Jewish history of the city.

Eta: the restaurant was Carmel.
